Notice of Regulatory Change Regarding Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program and Academic Requirements
Protection of the public is the highest priority for the Board when exercising its licensing, regulatory, and disciplinary functions. The Board adopts regulations that set forth standards for the approval of Associate Degree Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) training programs pursuant to Business and Professions Code section 2538.1.
This regulatory change adds requirements for Board-approved SLPA program directors and increases the required number of field work experience hours from seventy (70) hours to one hundred (100) hours.

This approved regulation amends sections 1399.170.4, 1399.170.10, and 1399.170.11 of Division 13.4, of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations.
